5 UNCONSCIOUS HABITS THAT WILL KILL YOUR DREAMS UNLESS YOU CHANGE

Pause for a second and take a moment to think about what you were like when you were younger. Chances are that life was intriguing and full of possibilities. The universe felt like an endless frontier and you had all the enthusiasm in the world to explore and conquer. You probably imagined yourself as a superhero or a Rockstar. In your heart of hearts, you knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that you were destined to become a legend. So much so that if some random adult ever asked you that infamous question, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” you had a clear, ambitious response – regardless of whether or not your answer was realistic.

Let your Light Shine:

The reason why this spark existed in your soul when you were younger is simple. You dared to dream. You had the boldness to expect good things from the future regardless of any challenge. This motivation is invaluable. All dreams evolve over time, but if nurtured in a healthy way, they can navigate us towards exciting accomplishments in life. Considering the profound joy you have to gain from realizing your dreams, one of the worst things that can happen to a person is letting go of them. And sadly, countless people do exactly that. No matter how much your dreams may change over time though, it’s never too late to rediscover, and reignite them. Here are five detrimental habits to avoid if you want your dreams to stay alive:

1.      Forgetting Work/Life Balance:

Your dreams will only be attainable if you are healthy enough to pursue them. Don’t allow yourself to burnout by focusing too much on work. In the same vein, don’t allow yourself to neglect the hustle that’s necessary in order to pursue your dreams in the first place. Work hard enough to chase them, and rest well enough to enjoy them.

2.      Hanging on to Baggage:

Pain from the past can paralyze people. It can deceive people into obsessing about failures and betrayals at the expenses of progress. If hard times have ever interfered with your path in life, don’t forget to move on when the time comes. If you fall down seven times, make sure to get back up eight times as well.

3.      Overthinking:

Doing things by the book feels safe, but it can also blind you to the fact that life is unpredictable. Always be flexible and open to the fact that life is dynamic. Sometimes you have to think outside the box. You have to trust the process. You have to be open to the possibility that luck happens. Be strategic, but have some faith too.

4.      Pessimism:

Words hold tremendous power. They can either rouse people into action or crush souls into defeat. In order to visualize and motivate yourself to stay the course, never cut yourself down through negative speech. Eliminate any and all language from your vocabulary that discourages you or those around you from contributing positively to your goals. After all, you possess that which you confess.

5.      Settling for Less:

Ambition is the fuel necessary for achievement. For as long as you have breath in your lungs, aspire for more and more and more. If your target is a mountaintop, aim for the sky. If your target is the sky, aim for the stars. Limiting yourself only sabotages the infinite nature of your potential.

Dreams are an indispensable element of the human experience. They are a unique ingredient of self-expression because they represent a manifestation of our deepest, most sincere desires. Even though every human being has an innate ability to dream, many people tragically stop. This is a mistake however. In the words of Oprah Winfrey, “The biggest adventure you can take is to live the life of your dreams.” Stop making excuses, and dream on. 5 PARENTING SECRETS TO HELP COPE WITH KIDS WHO ACT OUT IN PUBLIC

There’s a gripping, cringeworthy fear that every parent dreads when it comes to raising kids – grocery shopping with them. There’s no question that every child is a blessing from the heavens, and any normal parent would sacrifice everything just to make their kids happy. But all these warm and fuzzy feelings can start to get a little blurry the moment you experience what it’s like to deal with a child’s tantrum in public. Most children are usually excitable as it is, but there’s something about shopping that makes them even more prone to acting out whenever they’re at the store. Leaving the familiarity of their own home gives them a window to learn and explore… loudly.

There’s Hope:

The bad news is that there’s no escaping it. No matter who you are, or where you’re from, if you have to raise children you’ll also have to go through the frustration of keeping them well-behaved in a public setting. However, the good news is that tantrums can be tamed and contained if you’re willing to prepare and prevent. With the help of a few shrewd parenting techniques, it’s possible to reign in a child’s erratic behavior whether they’re pleading for a piece of candy, or running amok in the toy aisle. Here are five tips to keep kids well behaved in public.

1.      Forget what Other People Think: The moment you become a parent, trying to impress other people should be at the bottom of your priorities. In order to keep your children disciplined, you must first accept the fact that you will have to do some candid parenting under the judgmental gaze of other people. Ignore them, and be a good parent

2.      Keep Your Cool: When a child acts out in public, feeling embarrassed can compel you to overreact to the situation. Try as much as possible to remain calm and composed. Responding angrily to a tantrum can end up escalating it into a verbal argument.

3.      Be Firm: The most important thing to prevent future tantrums is teaching children that bad behavior will never be rewarded. If your child is acting out in order to manipulate you into giving them something, stand your ground. Don’t allow them to have the satisfaction of winning their prize through rebellious means.

4.      Anticipate: Even though you probably have a list of goals to accomplish, remember that you also have a responsibility to be aware of your kids. Pay attention to their moods and preempt any potential tantrums with engagement and distractions. For example, carry toys and snacks with you to keep them busy at strategic moments.

5.      Remember that They’re Just Kids: Any time you go on a journey with children, keep in mind that they get fatigued much more quickly than adults do. Moreover, when they get tired or bored, they’re likely to protest. Don’t plan to do ambitious tasks if you know your kids won’t be as patient or enthusiastic as you are. Keep your trips with them short and sweet.

Parenting is a big challenge. Take hope however because practice makes perfect. The more time you spend with your kids, the more you learn how to prevent undesirable scenarios with them. Be observant, be proactive and adapt to their unique needs as time goes by. The more you seek to understand the root cause of their behavior, the faster you’ll figure out how make and keep them happy.
